The challenge

Veridian realigns territories every quarter. With 40+ enterprise accounts moving between reps each cycle, Priya's sales ops team was building handoff documents manually — pulling CRM data, formatting summaries, chasing reps for relationship context, and assembling everything into a shareable doc. Per territory change: roughly 6–8 hours of ops time.

"We had two people spending basically a full week per quarter just on transition docs," Priya said. "And the output was inconsistent — it depended entirely on how responsive the outgoing rep was and whether their CRM hygiene was any good. Sometimes the briefs were great. Sometimes they were two sentences and a deal stage."

The solution

Veridian connected their Salesforce org to Inherit and ran a pilot across one territory realignment. The ops team set up Inherit to automatically generate briefs for each account being reassigned, pulling from opportunity records, contact history, activity logs, and custom fields the team had built for competitive tracking.

"The first batch came out better than what we'd been writing by hand," Priya noted. "It was pulling context from activity logs that our reps wouldn't have included — like a note from six months ago where the champion mentioned a board presentation deadline we should plan around."

The result

Territory transition prep is now a four-hour process per cycle, down from a full week. The ops team reallocated the freed capacity toward pipeline analysis and forecasting work. Incoming reps report being "deal-ready" by the end of their first day on new accounts — compared to the previous average of 8–10 business days.

Veridian also saw a measurable improvement in 90-day revenue retention on transitioned accounts: they tracked a 22% reduction in deal slippage in the first two quarters after adopting Inherit.
